The rest of the jury wanted not guilty. They leaned on him. Doing the right thing takes courage when the people around you want the easy vote.

It would have been simple to fold. No skin off his back. Sign the slip. Go home. Let the story become a medical tale instead of three dead kids.

We already know what comes next. The media will try to dox him. The mob will do the rest. I have little hope they leave him alone.

I hope he stays safe. I hope he stays an example.

A jury is twelve people on purpose. One person can still stop a rush to the exit. That is the point of the room. That is why we do not let a crowd take it.

The job is not to soothe the table. The job is to look at what was done and say no.
