Riddle me this, Democrats.
When somebody wants to check the voter rolls, you call it an attack on democracy. When you're worried about losing, you build a war room.
Which one is it?
Start with the checking. The Justice Department asked states for their voter rolls to confirm only eligible voters are on them. The DNC sent letters to officials in 10 states urging them to say no. Most of the states the DOJ has had to sue over it are run by Democrats.
Basic list maintenance, treated like a home invasion.
Now look at what they're doing behind closed doors.
Chuck Schumer gathered nearly a dozen senators in a room steps from the Senate floor to rehearse worst-case election scenarios. Staff from every Democratic attorney general's office, plus about a dozen Democratic secretaries of state, ran their own tabletop exercises. Their attorneys general have been preparing court motions for months.
Their stated reason is fear of federal interference at the polls. Fine. Take them at their word.
But for six years they told us that disputing an election was a threat to democracy itself. Now they've lawyered up and rehearsed for a disputed election before a single vote is counted.
So disputing elections is dangerous. Unless they're the ones getting ready to do it.
Then there's the SAVE America Act. At its core, it asks two things. Prove you're a citizen when you register. Show an ID when you vote.
It has passed the House more than once. It keeps dying in the Senate, where Democrats won't give it the votes it needs.
If fraud is as rare as they swear it is, this bill costs them nothing. It just proves them right.
Unless they're worried about what it might prove.
Make it make sense.
Why would a party that trusts its elections fight this hard to keep anyone from checking them?
